# Areas and tasks for your volunteers.

## What you describe, your volunteers read.

Every area and every task has a description. It appears on the sign-up page, right next to the shifts.

## Rules for each task.

Not every task suits everyone. Three settings control who can sign up where.

### Minimum age

Set a minimum age for a task, for example 16 for serving drinks. Your volunteers see it before they sign up.

### Minimum number of shifts

Does a task only make sense over several shifts, for example because it needs a briefing? Then set the minimum number.

### Internal assignment only

Turn off self sign-up for a task. It disappears from the sign-up page and you assign the volunteers yourself.

## Build it once, reuse it every year.

Copy your event for next year. Areas and tasks come along, and the shifts too if you want.

  Write to all volunteers of an area or a task. You start right from the list and write in the mail centre.

  Drag and drop areas and tasks into the right order. On a phone or tablet, press and hold, then drag.

- ### Filters for your volunteers

  On the sign-up page, volunteers filter by area and task. That way they quickly find what suits them.

**What is the difference between an area, a task and a shift?**

An area is one part of your event, for example the bar. It contains tasks such as serving or the till. Each task has shifts with a time and a number of volunteers.

**Do areas and tasks count towards the limits?**

No. The plans limit events, shifts and assignments, not the number of areas or tasks. The Free plan allows 20 shifts per event.

**Does every area need a task?**

Yes. Volunteers sign up for the shifts of a task. Without a task, nobody can sign up for the area.

**What happens if I delete an area?**

Its tasks and shifts are deleted too, along with the sign-ups for them. The app asks you to confirm first.
